Hardly anyone is completely satisfied with their body – there is usually one or the other problem zone that bothers a woman or man. Sometimes it is only slight displeasure and they accept the blemish. Others do not want to accept blemishes and actively do something about them. This is the case with a double chin, for example. It can make the facial area look chubby and blur clear facial contours. This does not have to be the case! With a comparatively simple method, the fat-away injection, we can take action against the double chin. We will explain exactly how this works in this article.
Double chin due to fat distribution disorder
Fat cells – so called adipocytes – are formed on all kinds of body parts already in childhood. After this “training phase”, the number usually remains the same. If there is a calorie surplus – for example, because you eat too much and/or the wrong food as well as exercise too little – the fat cells become larger. They have more content. The result: an increase in weight, which is accompanied by one or the other fat pads. If you now change your diet and start exercising, you will lose weight. The fat cells become smaller and so do the love handles.
You see: The content of the fat cells can always change and you can influence it yourself. What always remains constant, however, is the number of fat cells. You cannot change this naturally.
If you have more “flab” on your chin compared to other areas of your body, it may be due to a fat distribution disorder. This means that you have more fat cells on your chin than on other parts of your body. For this reason, any weight gain is particularly noticeable here.
However, a double chin can have other causes – such as predisposition or general overweight.
Fat-away injection works with two active ingredients
Injection lipolysis – also known as fat-removal injection – is an ideal way to combat a double chin. Its effect is characterized by two ingredients: phosphatidylcholine and deoxycholic acid.
Phosphatidylcholine is the most abundant phospholipid in nature. It is a fat with a water-soluble and a water-repellent side. The cell envelopes of humans, animals, plants and algae are composed of half phosphatidylcholine. It naturally helps metabolize cholesterol, aids in the digestion of fats, and can protect against gallstones and kidney stones. It also leads to the release of blood fats and stimulates fat cells to release certain messengers that initiate programmed cell death of fat cells.
From a biochemical point of view, deoxycholic acid belongs to the secondary bile acids. It is synthesized naturally by various remodeling processes in the liver and by the activity of certain intestinal bacteria from cholesterol with the intermediate stage of primary bile acid glycocholic acid. Deoxycholic acid has an important function in fat digestion and acts as a solvent by mixing fat and water. In tissues, deoxycholic acid causes fat cells to break down.
Phosphatidylcholine and deoxycholic acid – both synthetically produced – support each other in their effect. The substances initiate the following changes under your chin:
- Deoxycholic acid breaks down the cell membrane of the fat cell.
- This causes the fat and the basic substance of the cell to leak out.
- The body reacts to this process with an immediate – but for you harmless – inflammation.
- Phosphatidylcholine emulsifies with the leaked fat and stiffens it.
- The biochemical degradation mechanism of the fat cells begins. Your organism removes the individual components via the liver and the lymphatic system.
- The body circumference decreases in this region. The fat cells do not come back at this point.

Fat-away double chin: this is how easily we can remove fat deposits under your chin
To treat the chin area, we first clarify whether the excess fat is sagging skin or actually fat deposits. The fat-away injection works only in the second case.
If the double chin is due to excess fat, we mark the area to be treated under the chin. Using a very fine needle, we inject the injection solution described above into your subcutaneous fat. You do not need to be afraid of pain – we use a local anesthetic ointment, thanks to which you will not feel much.
The result of the treatment is not visible immediately. The effect begins after about 14 days. Significant results and a clear visual change can be seen between the fourth and sixth week. Then the double chin starts to reduce in size. It is possible that we will need several sessions. The treatments should then take place at intervals of four to six weeks each.
