Skin Resurfacing: Effective Skin Improvement by Laser

Skin Resurfacing

There are many phenomena that can make the appearance of the skin look uneven or irregular: Wrinkles, sun damage, pigmentary disorders, enlarged pores, small scars or the like. Typical wrinkle treatments with BTX or hyaluronic acid can help with wrinkles, volume loss and sagging skin areas. But they cannot bring about a holistically improved complexion. For those who want a general improvement of their skin, skin resurfacing is an interesting option. Laser treatment can literally give you new skin. You can find out how this works in this article.

Skin resurfacing: what is it?

Skin resurfacing is a so-called physical peeling method. The term comes from the American language and means something like “skin surface renewal”. During the treatment, we gently and precisely remove the superficial layers of the skin using a laser. In this way, we remove disturbing superficial skin changes. Furthermore, the collagen fibers under your skin contract by about one third. As a result, your skin tightens and is stimulated to produce fresh collagen. It should also be emphasized that the laser is not a scalpel. Your tissue is spared during skin resurfacing and your facial expressions also remain unchanged.

Skin resurfacing with the fractional co2 laser

For the surface resurfacing of your skin we use the fractional CO2 laser. It is currently one of the most modern methods of skin treatment. We do not place the laser energy over a wide area – as is the case with other laser methods – but in specific points. During the laser treatment, we place hundreds of microscopic heat columns in different areas of your facial skin. In between, we leave small islands of untreated skin. This causes the body to want to reseal the tiny injuries. As a result, it now forms collagen and elastic fibers on its own – and thus fresh, new and well-structured tissue.

The result: skin resurfacing with the fractional CO2 laser allows us to refine, refresh, rejuvenate, tighten and smooth your entire skin appearance. After just a few days, you can notice the first improvements regarding your skin appearance and texture. But that is not all! A natural, continuous improvement of your skin follows, as the full effect develops over a few months.
