Lip lines

Wrinkles may develop around the lips due to the constant movement of the mouth, loss of moisture, intense sunlight or smoking.These wrinkles, sometimes also called “smoker’s” or “barcode” lines can be substantially reduced.

Fluid hyaluronan can be used to smooth out fine lip lines, while for more pronounced lip wrinkles it may need to be combined with chemical peeling, laser treatment or Ultherapy in order to obtain the desired result and avoid unnatural “duck lips”.

Tiny quantities of botulinum toxin are excellent for preventing lip lines.

Lip volume

In the case of thin lips, application of hyaluronan makes it possible to increase the volume of the upper and lower lip or to emphasise certain parts and thus improve the shape of the mouth.The size depends on the individual structure and proportions of your face.

Often not just the volume of the lips but also the philtrum columns (vertical grooves that run from the nose to the middle of the upper lip) are treated in order to harmonise the overall picture.

Lip contours

By means of targeted treatment of the lip contour, a more defined and beautiful lip shape can be achieved. In contrast to a lip liner, the edges of the lips are not simply contrasted but somewhat more clearly shaped. Thus, for example the so-called cupid’s bow on the upper lip is very beautifully highlighted.

Oral commissures and marionette lines

Marionette lines extend from the corners of the mouth down to the lower jaw. This demarcates the chin so it looks like a puppet. These lines give an impression of sadness and resignation.

They can be filled with fillers (e.g. hyaluronic acid or Radiesse®). If they are very pronounced, simultaneous volume treatment in the cheek region is often necessary. A combination of Ultherapy and fillers might also be considered.

If the wrinkles around the mouth are reinforced by an involuntary pulling down of the corners of the mouth that has become habitual, the muscles should be relaxed by combining treatments with botulinum toxin.
