Rhinoplasty: Also possible without a scalpel

Nasenkorrektur München

Are you bothered by the shape of your nose and would like to have it corrected? But you do not dare because you are afraid of the operation and the time afterwards? In the meantime there is an alternative to the classic nose correction, which offers you many advantages: Rhinoplasty without surgery. You do not need anesthesia (risks are thus avoided), there is hardly any wound pain and bruising. All changes can also be reversed, which would not be so easy with surgery.

You think that sounds tempting and makes you curious? In this article, we will explain how rhinoplasty without surgery works in our practice!

Hyaluronic acid against nasal humps

A substance with a versatile field of application: both in human medicine, aesthetic medicine and cosmetics, hyaluronic acid is used as a “wonder weapon”. From a chemical point of view, hyaluronic acid is a chain of sugar molecules with moisturizing and moisture-binding properties. It makes the skin plump and radiant, for example. For this reason, hyaluronic acid is used for wrinkle injections, lip sculpting, skin resurfacing, and facial contour building.

Deformities of the bridge of the nose in the area of the bump or the saddle, the tip of the nose or the bridge can be softened or even completely disappear by injecting hyaluronic acid. A slightly crooked nose can also be straightened in this way (this does not affect the nasal septum). The tip of the nose can be raised by hyaluron as well as a broad appearing nose can be refined by a slender raising of the bridge of the nose.

However, the nose is not made smaller by the injections, but merely more harmonious.

Botox also makes the nose pretty

Botulinum toxin (more commonly known as “Botox”) is a safe drug that has been successfully used in therapeutic medicine for over 30 years, e.g. for the treatment of diseases with excessive muscle activity, even in children. In aesthetic medicine, we use this relaxing effect to relax muscles that cause unwanted wrinkles. Therefore, Botox plays a major role in “optical rejuvenation therapy”.

Meanwhile, aesthetic physicians worldwide are using the benefits of the active ingredient in other areas, even in nose correction.

To raise the tip of the nose, for example, a combination of hyaluronic acid and botulinum toxin can be effective, especially for patients who pull the tip of their nose down when they laugh. This substance can also be used to treat the so-called “nose flutter” very effectively.

The wings of the nose can also be narrowed by injecting Botox. This effect can be enhanced by inserting hyaluronic acid in various places (e.g. above the tip of the nose and between the nostrils along the nasal septum and at its base).

For whom is rhinoplasty without surgery suitable?

For those who like it gentle and natural or want to keep the typical characteristics of the nose, this form of nose correction is highly recommended. It does not permanently change one’s own type, it is rather a matter of correcting a blemish.

The desired results are achieved quickly, the treatment takes only minutes. And there are no long downtime and healing periods, as would be necessary after a surgical procedure.

However, for very severe nasal deformities and problems that go beyond aesthetics, rhinoplasty without surgery is not recommended. This applies, for example, to problems with nasal breathing caused by a curvature of the nasal septum.
